A leading player in the drywall manufacturing industry faced a critical challenge: effectively harnessing and reusing the substantial heat and water vapor emitted from their drywall dryer system while meeting stringent performance criteria. Recognizing the need for an innovative solution, they turned to PRE-heat Inc. to design and manufacture a custom air-to-air cooling tower heat exchanger.

Engineered with precision, the exchanger featured a vertical shell and tube design with four shell passes, ensuring optimal heat transfer efficiency. With 1.5" outer diameter tubes extending 40' in length, it was primed to handle the demanding requirements of the drywall manufacturing process.

In addition to the main exchangers, auxiliary equipment including a stainless steel bottom hot air inlet and outlet plenum was seamlessly integrated, providing essential insulation and structural support. Clad in durable M.S. cladding and featuring strategically placed access doors for ease of maintenance, the final product epitomized quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
